The
Tilleke & Gibbins Textile Collection (The only law firm in Southeast Asia with a
collection of textiles)
Cambodia
Of all the mainland Southeast
Asian countries, Cambodia and its people, the Khmer, have had
the longest history in the region. Cambodia was the door through
which most Indian culture entered into mainland Southeast Asia,
including a textile patterning technique known as weft ikat. The
Khmers have practiced this technique and have mastered it to a
level of sophistication not seen in any other mainland country.
