Computer
Donations to Needy Schools, Associations and Government Agencies

Tilleke & Gibbins is committed to helping
the community in meaningful ways that have long-term beneficial
effects on society. One of these is to promote and enhance
the technological capabilities of schools, government agencies,
non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and associations through
donations of the firm's used computers and printers, restored
to good working condition by the firm's IT personnel. Most
of the donations are to rural schools in the provinces that
are so technologically behind their urban counterparts in
computerized educational tools. The firm's objective is to
improve the learning and teaching tools of these schools.
The firm has a long list of schools with requests for used
computers and printers, and as such, donations are made on
the basis of need. Requests for donations are also received
from government agencies. By donating computers and printers
to these government offices, the firm is helping to promote
their technological capability, thus expediting their work
and improving their efficiency. Finally, the firm also accommodates
requests from NGOs and associations for computers to aid them
in their work. Since the initiation of this project in 1998,
a total of 46
recipients
have benefited from donations of a total of 137 computers
and 27 printers.
